Stitch by stitch towards the future

The start of construction work on the extension to the HANSA-FLEX headquarters was celebrated with a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony on Thursday 22 October. In a small group, building owner Thorsten Armerding and board member Uwe Buschmann together with representatives of the Jürgen Schlake architectural office and the responsible construction company, Bremer AG, made the symbolic first cut of the spade.

Building work on schedule

Work on this largescale project is on schedule so far. The preparatory earthworks for lowering the groundwater table and concreting the base slab, which began in September, have already been completed. The fundaments are currently being constructed. Until October 2021, a four-part building complex is to be constructed at Von-Thünen-Strasse 14, which is only a few minutes' walk from the central office in the Bremen-Mahndorf industrial estate. With a total area of 18,000 m² and an investment volume of 22 to 24 million Euros, this is the largest-ever construction project in the history of HANSA-FLEX. The extension is intended not only to provide space for Europe's largest high-bay storage facility, logistics, production and office workplaces, it is also intended to send a clear, future-oriented signal to employees, customers and business partners in the crisis.
